We Want Peace

A message from the people of Iran to the world

Positive Thoughts, Kind Words, Good Deeds

When positive thoughts are conveyed through kind words, they're bound to result in good deeds.

For 2,500 years, our ancient motto has guided our civilization. It is who we are. It is who we will always be.

Human beings are members of a whole,

In creation of one essence and soul.

If one member is afflicted with pain,

Other members uneasy will remain.

If you've no sympathy for human pain,

The name of human you cannot retain.

— Saadi Shirazi, “Bani Adam” (13th century)

To the World

The people of Iran are not the Islamic Republic. On January 8 and 9, the occupying regime cut the internet and massacred Iranians in the dark. But we want you to know:

We do not want dictatorship. We do not want war. We do not want chaos. We want to live in freedom and peace — with our neighbors, and with the world.

To World Leaders

We understand your concerns. You fear that change in Iran could bring instability. You wonder: "What comes next? Could it be worse?"

Let us be clear:

  • 🕊️
    We seek peace, not revenge.

The Iranian people want reconciliation, not conflict. We have no desire to threaten any nation.

  • 🤝
We want to be partners, not adversaries.

A free Iran will engage with the international community as an equal partner in trade, diplomacy, and culture.

  • ⚖️
    We believe in secular governance.

The Iranian people want a government that represents all citizens — regardless of religion, ethnicity, or gender.

  • 🌍
    We will honor international commitments.

A democratic Iran will be a responsible member of the global community, respecting treaties and international law.

To Our Neighbors

To Iraq, Turkey, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Turkmenistan, the Gulf states, and every neighbor of Iran:

The people of Iran recognize the pain, mistrust, and instability that decades of the Islamic regime’s policies have created across our region. Many of our neighbors have also paid a heavy price for extremism, interference, militias, hostage-taking, and threats.

We want to say clearly and respectfully: the Iranian people are not your enemy. We seek dignity for ourselves, and peace with you.

A free Iran would choose a different path — one based on sovereignty, non-interference, secure borders, lawful cooperation, and mutual respect.

The regime created fear. The people of Iran seek trust, partnership, and peace.

A free Iran will work to:

  • Respect your sovereignty and territorial integrity
  • End interference in the affairs of neighboring countries
  • Reject militias, hostage-taking, terrorism, and political violence
  • Secure its borders and support regional stability
  • Build cooperation through trade, culture, science, energy, and friendship

Who We Were, Who We Can Be Again

Before 1979, Iran was a modernizing nation. Women attended universities. Artists and poets flourished. We had diplomatic relations with nations across the world. Tehran was called "the Paris of the Middle East."

We are not asking to go backward. We are asking for the freedom to build a modern, democratic Iran — one that honors our ancient Persian heritage while embracing the future.

Iran has 3,000 years of civilization. We gave the world poetry, mathematics, medicine, and the very concept of human rights (the Cyrus Cylinder). The current regime is 47 years old. It does not define us.

What Is Happening Right Now

5,000+UN minimum killed
6,634Documented by name
36,500Reported estimate

Updated May 4, 2026 — focused on Jan 8–9

On January 8 and 9, 2026, the occupying Islamic Regime turned its weapons on the people of Iran. Amnesty International says the authorities carried out massacres of protesters primarily on those two days, after cutting internet access so the regime could kill people in the dark and stop Iranians from showing the world its crimes. Human Rights Watch reports that security forces carried out mass killings after the protests escalated on January 8, with thousands of protesters and bystanders believed killed. The UN Special Rapporteur cited at least 5,000 killed and said medical-source information suggested the toll could be as high as 20,000. Iran International says it has documented 6,634 deaths by submitted records and separately reported a 36,500 estimate based on leaked official documents. These numbers are not the voice of the Iranian people; they are the record of a regime occupying our country and killing Iranians in our name.
